VUW Participating in GiveGreater.Org Challenge

 

The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven had established a new online giving tool and a challenge for area philanthropists and agencies. The goal of the giveGreater.org 2010 Challenge is to inspire unprecedented levels of giving to nonprofits serving the Greater New Haven community. To that end, The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven has allocated $200,000 to be distributed among eligible nonprofits on giveGreater.org. The more donors who give a minimum of $50 to participating nonprofits, the greater the chance of those nonprofits winning up to $25,000 in grants. The race begins at 8:00 am on November 1st and ends at 11:59 pm on December 31st.

There's an early bird prize to the first three organizations that meet the Challenge, so don't wait to make your gift.

1.      To be eligible for any grant prize an organization must meet the Challenge of getting 50 donors to make a gift of $50 or more.

2.      All gifts must be made with a credit card on giveGreater.org between November 1st at 8:00 am and December 31st at 11:59 pm to be eligible for the Challenge.

3.      Checks will not be accepted or counted towards this Challenge.

4.      Donors are encouraged to make gifts of $50 or more to multiple organizations of their choice. Each gift to a different organization will be counted as an eligible gift.

5.      A donor is defined an individual or corporation/business.

6.      An eligible or unique gift is defined as one gift of $50 or more to one organization from one donor.  Multiple gifts made by the same donor to the same organization will not be counted. Donors can make eligible gifts to multiple organizations as stated above.

7.      Each gift is 100% tax deductible. giveGreater.org cannot receive gifts in exchange for goods and/or services.

8.      The Foundation does not charge a fee for this service but will deduct a percentage from the donation amount to cover the credit card transaction and processing costs.
