Cup 2008

David Scott and John D'Onofrio almost outran the rain on
their way to victory in the 2008 Orienteering event.
What started out as a bright, cool evening turned to darkness
and heavy rain and then back to sunshine as 13 teams navigated
around a challenging course at the Ansonia Nature Center. The
rain which struck about 45 minutes into the event slowed the
field except for David Scott and John D'Onfrio of the
PerkinElmer Pathfinders team who literally ran the course in 50
minutes and 25 seconds a full 20 minutes faster than runners-up
Rich Knoll and Jamie Fields of TEAM, Inc. Only five teams
managed to finish the complete course on the evening as the
heavy rain caught several teams unprepared and left them
dripping! Griffin Hospital's Lost in CT and both of CDW-G's
teams turned the trick under the two hour limit set for the
event.
