The Faces of United Way

A look some of the people who benefit from using services

People from all walks of life are likely to be beneficiaries of services offered by agencies and programs funded through donations to United Way. Most stories go untold and the services are largely taken for granted - until we need them. The people pictured below have been very generous in allowing us to tell their stories as "Faces of United Way". Click on the links below to read their stories and in many cases to see their short videos.

A new life in America

Valley United Way means many different things to many different people. The services provided by United Way funded agencies and programs are wide ranging and affect a high percentage of our citizens every day. In this series of ongoing stories, we are attempting to show the human side of that story by focusing on just a few of the individuals whose lives have been touched in one way or another by those services. Come back regularly to learn more!

We want to thank Alma Calderon, a volunteer who came to Valley United Way through our on-live volunteer matching service (Volunteer Solutions), who is developing these stories with the assistance of the agencies who provide the services.
