Leadership Greater Valley Program Graduates Thirteen

Leadership Greater Valley is a program designed to help develop individual leadership potential in the Valley area. It is a collaborative program of the Valley Council for Health & Human Services, Valley United Way, and the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce subsidized with grant support from the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven and the Katharine Matthies Foundation. Thirteen individuals graduated from the program in 2003:

The program consisted of eight weekly fall sessions beginning in September with the History of the Valley culminating in a graduation on November 20. Along the way, participants received information and training on a variety of topics including leadership, ethics, diversity, government, economic development, the arts and health and human services. Many local government, nonprofit and civic leaders participated in the program as instructors.
Following graduation, participants are working with Joy DeMarchis, Director of the Volunteer Action Center to find a volunteer leadership position in the Valley area.
