Photo by Fred Ortoli Catholic Charities - John McGann Catholic Charities provides mental health services to children, adults and families, educational classes for men arrested for domestic violence, parenting education classes for families affected by divorce and separation, anger management, substance abuse and behavioral health treatment to individuals involved with the courts. We are staffed by licensed mental health clinicians and have a consulting child and adult psychiatrist. Many of the clients we serve are unemployed or earn minimal income. The funds from Valley United Way are used to supplement the cost of services to these clients. 84% of the clients who completed treatment as planned demonstrated a high level of functioning as reported by clients using the Global Functioning Scale. 90% of those in the family violence education class reported no further abuse of spouse. 85% of the participants in the parenting class for families going through a divorce reported the class "very helpful" in dealing with issues with their children. |
