Snow, sleet and rain could not keep the ‘Gexpro Band’ from performing at their United Way Campaign Kickoff!  The employee musicians demonstrated their hidden talents before a crowd of about 75 co-workers in the Corporate Tower 2 Lobby. 

This year’s Committee chair, Felicity Celentano welcomed everyone and thanked her energetic committee for all of their planning and hard work, while CEO Mitch Williams echoed the same in addition to pledging his support to United Way and the great things they do to support the community.

Jack Ribas, Director of the Lower Naugatuck Valley Boys and Girls Club, spoke of the many great programs and services the Club offers that provide educational assistance, social & physical development, and computer training. Jack Walsh, President and COO expressed his thanks and complimented the talents of the ‘Gexpro Band’  and the hard work of the campaign committee. 

The committee will be running a variety of events throughout the next couple of weeks.  Today’s highlight event was the “Draw Gexpro’s Leader” contest.  Awards were given to 1^st and 2^nd place winners in 4 different age brackets.  A 50/50 raffle was also held but the free throw shooting contest was ‘snowed out’!  It will be held later in the week in addition to an online silent auction, 3 ‘Jeans Fridays’, a homemade pasta luncheon, and an interdepartmental challenge (possibly Wii Olympics) in December. 

The luncheon was capped off with the cutting of the United Way Kick off cake!  It was a great celebration and very successful event!!
